Wow, I had forgotten alot of that stuff, yeah I remember the goofy special meeting on Sunday nights when the CO visited. And the length of the meetings, it just went on forever, Thursday nights were the worst during school, how I hated that, home from the meeting and straight to bed. What a bunch of crap.

Tiger
Genera and species: Panthera Tigris
Collective Term: A bolt of tigersDescription
Tigers are handsome and powerful people with an innate self-confidence and elegance. There's a sense of immediacy and an aura of electricity that surrounds it, and when it walks into a room, something always seems about to happen. Consider the classic tiger personality of F. Lee Bailey. He expresses himself with the confidence of one who expects his orders to be unquestionably followed, and his autocratic style demands respect and commands fear. For once a tiger has found its groove, it focuses on its goal with a brightly burning intensity. Male tigers, when out of their element, are sometimes mistaken for beefcake. But when you see them in their offices wearing their power suits, you realize that you're dealing with incisive, authoritarian individuals. As a nocturnal hunter the tiger is equipped with a great deal of street sense. Able to read people's motivations and assess situations quickly, it is blunt and to the point, commanding attention with just a whisper or a raising of its eyebrow. It demands respect and commands fear. Unlike their cat relatives, tigers enjoy sports of all kinds, with a particular affinity for water sports. They are often seen in the company of river dolphins and sea lions on a casual and socially limited basis.
With a need to dominate their partners, their passionate advances can often be too intense for those fainthearted partners, so they must choose their lovers wisely. Because of their propensity for solitude, they avoid long-lasting relationships and place little value on fidelity -- proving to be unsettled and promiscuous.
Marry it? Yes. Tame it? Never! It's hard to put one's finger on why the tiger struggles to settle down, but one theory has it that the tiger views marriage as a threat to its independence. But their emotional detachment should not be confused with a desire to avoid intimacy; for intimacy is the tiger's greatest sensual tool. By offering its lover its deeply held secrets, it adds another dimension of eroticism to its lovemaking.
However, those tigers that have been married for a while will tell you that matrimony can be quite agreeable. Perhaps then, it's their impossible search for the perfect partner that keeps them on the prowl, although more than likely, we'll never understand the dark forces that frame its fearful symmetry.

A Nice Alternative to Assemblies!
by metatron init's called "omega point" and it's located up in the hudson valley area of new york, in rhinebeck.. www.eomega.org.
think of it as a 'new age' camp for adults.
lots of authors, actors and well known 'new age' types give seminars there.

A nice alternative to an assembly is a vacation, no agenda, no "meetings", no nothing that I don't want to do. Sitting somewhere listening to somone talk just sounds too much like being at an assembly. Now sitting on a beach watching the sunset does it for me, the Omega thing sounds too much like my continuing education seminars I have to attend.

When I took physics at the university I remember one of my professors saying that the most fundamental question that couldn't be answered was, why is there anything instead of nothing.
I have always felt that if there is a g/God(s), but more specifically one of the christian type (all knowing, all powerfull, etc.) that they would exist outside of time and the constraints of our physical universe and how we define it. So to say that they always existed, were without beginning or end made sense to me if you were going to take that view of God. To say, well you argue that we had a maker, then who made God doesn't work, God would be the exception to the rule.

My words My feelings - you're welcome to add yours
by LouBelle infor some reason i just want to put this out there.....because i can.. .
i don't know what kind of a ""christian"" (i don't label myself as one) i am, as i feel that if for certain reasons one doesn't believe in a god, because there is a lack of evidence - he isn't gonna condemn anyone.
because you believe in ra/ vishnu or whatever other god doesn't mean you are under condemnation.

Tetra, very interesting quote by Mr. Dawkins and one that sort of bothers me. As I understand it, nature/evolution is pitiless and indifferent as Mr. Dawkins points out, and that all the traits we have are bred into us for survival. I also recall your explination as to how culture evolved along with biological evolution, and that the drawings that started out to coordinate the hunt evolved into the Mona Lisa as we big brained apes found ourselves stimulated by the pictures.
I also given what I do acutely understand the role that morals play in the functioning of our society and why they might evolve, but here's where I have a problem and I find it to be a leap: If morals evolved so that we can live together as a group and provide order, as our living together in a group is safer for the species than alone that makes sense, but what about the emotions of say, pity, compassion, remorse, etc. In Mr. Dawkins view, nature is pitiless, there is no place for sentiment here, if it favors survival it is kept, if not, discarded. Why would the tribe develop compassion for the sickly weak member that isn't smart and doesn't contribute anything to the tribe towards its survival? Why would we feel moved to feed, care for, and protect such and individual? It would seem what we deem the higher aspects of human behavior really don't benefit our survival all that much if at all, in fact they may actually be counter productive in many situations. This is where I find a problem with the theory and find myself having to make a leap of faith to accept it akin to that made in accepting a god.

Anyone pronouncing the wicked one righteous.........
by defd inand anyone pronouncing the righteous one wicked-even both of them are something detestble to jehovah, says proverbs 17:15. amid a world that is becoming entrenched in its opposition to god, it would be wise for us to look at our own attitude and values.
periodically, we should examine ourselves to make sure we are not gradually drifting away from jehovahs thinking and standards.
we might for example ask ourselves: have i become more tolerant of practices that god condemns?

Why would I want to "resist the spirit of the world?" Its where I live, the real world that is, as apposed to living in some WBTS inspired circle jerk fantasy world where I am in mortal combat with demunzz all day while learning how to be a good snake oil salesman.
Pull your head out Defd and check yourself.

Never ever, from the first day in kindergarten when I had to go stand in the hall while they did the pledge I was never proud of it, always felt like a freak and did everything I could to hide it.
